Arsenic
By Roy Cordiale
Recently it was stated on local news that arsenic levels found in apple juice exceed the FDA requirements. Evidently this contamination came from the soil. If this is true we need to study and determine the source of this specific poison. It may involve many areas of investigation using reverse trace operations of analysis to find the source . Speculation of the primary areas to consider include detailed soil analysis to determine the concentration of arsenic. Based upon these finding, start a detailed plan to identify the “carrier”that transported the poison and distributed it into the soil. If the affected area of the soil is very large, and has been dusted by airplane, our next target for analysis would be the chemical composition of the crop dusting power to determine if excessive amounts of arsenic exceed FDA Standards. If FDA Standards have been violated in any form such as concentration and or frequency of application Then immediate shut down of crop dusting is appropriate. This would involve revamp of current procedures in the Chemical Company that supplied the dusting powder. In the current environment it would be mandatory to implement High security in the processing and packaging of Crop Dusting Powder. Continuation of the cleanup woul involve complete cleaning and detoxing the aircraft dusting system. The reasoning involved in presenting this writing was the prior reported events of mass bird deaths and the meager determination as to cause of these events. Lets suppose that the arsenic was sprayed into the soil and the apple trees absorbed the contaminate transported into the apple. The bird ingested mass amounts of insects that were killed by the pesticide and consequently the birds died. The finding of any contaminate in our food is cause for great concern and requires an immediate extended effort to evaluate human health now and long term. Of special interest is the health of our children which involves the daily selection of food products and determination of nutrition. We expect quick Government Action to insure prompt resolution of causes for food contamination and measures to insure future safety by institution of Proper inspection by FDA representations. The first review shall include apple juice, apple sauce, apple fritters, apple cider, apple turnovers and all drinks currently using apple base. The other subject is vegetables that are dusted by aircraft. This analysis would require hiring many new qualified applicants to perform the required tasks. It is time to take care o U. S. Citizens. The finding of any contaminate in our food is cause for great concern and requires an immediate extended effort to evaluate human health now and long term.
